Preparation
- Pour milk into a small saucepan and heat over low heat.
- After about a minute, gently stir the oatmeal into the lukewarm milk. If you want to prepare chocolate oatmeal, add one to two cubes of dark chocolate or a teaspoon of cocoa powder at this step.
- Cook for about 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally. When the milk boils, turn off the heat.
- Let stand for 2–3 minutes to allow the flakes to absorb the excess milk.
- Finally, add honey or another healthy sweetener and other toppings as desired (fruit, nuts, seeds, sweet spices...).
Oatmeal is known as a healthy choice for a balanced breakfast. They do not contain gluten, so they are a suitable food for all those who avoid it. In any case, preparing oatmeal is very simple, which makes it a suitable choice for a quick breakfast. Also, the preparation itself can have a therapeutic effect and become part of a relaxing morning routine.
